Tom Threepersons & His Holster

Tom Threepersons was a lawman/gunfighter in the El Paso area during the 1920s. Whether you know it or not, just about everything else that you know or have read about him is untrue or undocumented. So, let’s start with the facts that can be proven.

Threepersons came to El Paso in 1916 and joined the U.S. Army as a civilian packer. This was during the buildup that led to Pershing’s punitive expedition into Mexico after Pancho Villa. It is also possible that Threepersons may have served as a scout for army units during their search for the bandits. He was back in El Paso and a civilian by 1920 when he went into law enforcement.
